A Step-by-Step Guide to Our Process
Our designers take the time to understand your home, your goals, and the way you want your space to function. From there, we guide you through design options, cabinetry styles, materials, appliances, moldings, and hardware choices that support your vision. Discover what you can expect from each stage of our design and cabinetry service.
1. Initial Meeting
During the initial meeting, one of our qualified designers will give you a tour of our showroom’s kitchen, bath, and other displays. This gives you a first-hand look at our extensive line of custom products and superior design capabilities.
For New Construction Projects
If you are building a new home, we will review your blueprints. Cabinets and Beyond Design Studio has many samples of cabinetry styles, door styles, and hardware choices to help you visualize the design possibilities for your new space.
For Remodeling Projects
If you are remodeling, please bring a floor plan or any available drawings to your initial meeting. Please include the following details: wall lengths, ceiling heights, dimensions of base and crown moldings, soffits, doors, windows, and air conditioner or heater locations. If you do not have drawings, bring any available measurements, photos, and information about the space.
2. Preliminary Design at Our Showroom
After the initial meeting, our designer will take the design elements discussed and incorporate them into a preliminary conceptual design. During the design presentation, our designer will provide you with a preliminary set of drawings and a rough idea of the overall project cost.
This step gives everyone involved a platform to start from. The final design, project scope, and costs will continue to evolve and be refined during the meetings that follow between you and our designer.
3. Project Detail Refinement
There are many decisions involved in the design and installation of a new kitchen, bathroom, home office, or media room. These choices may feel overwhelming, which is why our experienced designers are here to assist you. After the initial meeting and preliminary design stages with one of them, you will have a clearer sense of what your project will look like and what it may cost.
To continue the design process and keep your project moving forward, we require a design retainer. Our typical retainer is 10% of the cabinet price. This retainer is non-refundable and will be applied toward the cost of your cabinetry purchase for the project that the retainer was issued for. It cannot be applied to any other project.
Once the retainer is paid, our designer will measure the space and help you sort through the many available styles of cabinets, appliances, molding, and hardware choices. All the design elements you select will refine your project, resulting in the revision of the design drawings and a more accurate price quote given to reflect your choices.
4. Contractual Agreement
Once the design revisions are complete and all materials have been selected, a contractual agreement is made. You will be charged the contract cost minus the design retainer fee. Our designer will then relay the pertinent specifications to you, your remodeling contractor, or your builder to help ensure accurate project progression.
5. Ordering the Chosen Materials
Upon receipt of payment, our designer will order your custom cabinetry products and provide an estimated delivery date. This step moves your project from planning into production, based on the finalized design, selected materials, and approved agreement.
6. Products and Materials Delivery
Once the custom cabinetry products and materials arrive at our warehouse, our designer will contact you to schedule your delivery. Throughout the installation process of your project, your contractor can remain in communication with our designer to help support a smooth and professional completion of your cabinetry and home solution project.
